During our first thematic group session, we will focus on how to measure, calculate and allocate carbon emissions in logistics. We will introduce the software tool BigMile. BigMile is a data analysis tool where you can do CO2 calculations and allocations based on the EN16258 standard. It also offers the possibility for further analysis to understand potential savings.
Measuring = knowing = improving is what we at Lean & Green believe in. Without the right insights, you don’t know where your savings potential lies.
The first step with every new participant is to find out how much measurable CO2 reduction has been achieved in the past. This reduction will determine the starting point within the program. This way a company may enter the program on the first, second or even third Star level. BigMile helps you get a complete CO2 measurement, including transported units, per customer and per modality. Thereby, you quickly have a clear picture of your starting point, you know where you can make improvements and which measures contribute to this in the future.
Objectives
- Know how to make a logistics profile in BigMile
- Know how to fill the input file and how to upload this to get an analysis in BigMile
- Understand the output of the BigMile analysis.
